WHY AVOID HOSTING IN USA / EUROPE
Several companies appear to offer services in the UK
while really being located in the USA or Germany. Even at the speed of light being
hosted in the USA will increase delays an extra 1/10 of a second
(100ms) on average. This might not sound that long, but you have to
remember that this delay will occur for each picture on your web pages
and can dramatically slow down your website. To find out if your host
is really in the USA and forgot to tell you about it use our
traceroute function below. We generally advise customers to select
servers in the location where most their viewers will be physically located.
If you for example made the mistake of selecting a host in Germany and
they tricked you into believing your domain was hosted in the UK, you
should immediately call them and complain and we will offer you to
move to us for free.
Look in the result for signs that look like place names in the USA (nyc=New
York City, ca=California etc) and see if the hops are more than 12-13.
To make a real test try a Monday-Friday evening at 18-20 and watch the
access times drop dramatically. Everything over 100ms is completely
unacceptable.
WHY PAY NOMINET / CORE
NOMINET (.UK)
Nominet is UKs' naming authority a non-profit
organisation that maintains the .UK database. If you
register a name directly with Nominet, you will be
charged £80+ vat. However since we are members of
Nominet we can offer you the price for only £0.21 per month. You are
named official admin contact and we arrange for the official Nominet
paperwork to be sent directly to you.
CORE (.COM .NET .ORG)

CORE is the international equivalent of Nominet.
We are registering domains on the CORE database and can therefore offer you the
lowest price on domains. In September 1999 Network
Solutions monopoly was broken which is why the prices
came down and you will no longer pay $70 per domain.
Instead we will charge our CORE fee of £1.05 per month.
WHY
IS UK2.NET DIFFERENT
Most webhosting companies only allow you to buy
complete packages, which means that you pay for services
you do not necessarily need. With us you pick and choose
only those services you need and at the best possible
prices.
WHAT IS THE CATCH
The catch is that we hope that you will enjoy our
services and come back and buy more. But you are under no
obligation to do so! The only charge you can incur is 19+vat
if you want to move the domain away, which is fair since you are under no
obligation to buy more services. Please note that our special offer 1 penny per month
applies to when you buy 10 domains at the same time, but our single domain price
is also ridiculously low at 16 pence per month.
PAYMENT OPTIONS
We accept Visa, Master, Solo, Delta & Switchcards.
